One of our chandelier’s crystals fell and dad wanted to replace it immediately. While he was looking for extras, I decided to take this one and give it a snap.

Decided to try a different approach shooting Smartie.
Picture # 1 Light Source
Played around with natural lighting by turning off the lights and placing part of Smartie’s cage near a light source. I just patiently waited for Smartie to walk towards the light source.

Picture # 2 Motion Blur
This is one of Smartie’s scratching habits. Tweaked the shutter to capture Smartie’s motion. I’d be boring it he just stood still in whatever action he was in.

Picture # 3 Candid Shots
We usually take pictures of our pets facing us, I thought it would be cool if we could tell a story by taking his picture candidly.

It’s been ages since I last shot something. Events photography hasn’t been really my forte because I find it really hard to be spontaneous with shutters, apertures, and exposures at the snap of a second. Every second is a challenge of getting the right image creatively and I feel that it’s too big of a risk. If you fail, you’d end up skipping a precious moment, screwing things up literally. I tried to get over that fear, researched on ISO levels, white balance, etc. for wedding photography, and luckily things went out smoothly. Here’s a picture of the couple; not bad of a shot since I had to squeeze in and take the shot against hired professionals.
